The Card Farmers officially upgraded their shop to a brand‑new downtown Marshall location on May 1st. The move—just a few blocks from their previous home—adds 2,100 square feet of space and unlocks a wider, more diverse hobby experience for collectors across southwest Minnesota.
Owner Lucas Christoffer said the team couldn’t be more thrilled. “We are so excited to be more downtown and to have a bigger space for our wonderful customers.” The expanded layout has already transformed what The Card Farmers can offer. Collectors will now find a full Warhammer section, an expanded board‑game lineup, a major boost in Magic: The Gathering products, and more singles on display than ever before. Early reactions have been glowing, with comments like “the Magic selection got a big upgrade” and “new spot is amazing” popping up across social media.
To mark the occasion, The Card Farmers gave away gift bags to kids and held drawings for gift cards from neighboring small businesses—an intentional way to celebrate the downtown community they’re now even more connected to. The Lingen Dairy food truck added to the festivities, treating visitors to ice cream throughout the afternoon.
For Christoffer, the move is more than a business upgrade—it’s a return to the heart of childhood memories. “Some of my favorite memories growing up were when my grandma would walk with me from her house on North Fourth Street down to Denny’s or Brad’s Card Shop,” he said. “We would go by a parrot on the corner, we would eat lunch at the band shell, and I would talk about what Pokémon or sports cards I just had to have. Now, 30 years later, I hope to bring those memories to this place for others.”
He hopes the new location brings fresh energy downtown, creates smiles, and gives people a place to escape the stress of everyday life—even if only for a moment.
The Card Farmers’ new home is located at 109 North Third Street, Suite 1 in Marshall. As always, directions, hours, and full shop details can be found in our Card Shop Directory. We wish Lucas and the entire Card Farmers team the very best in their new space—it’s clear they’re building something special for the southwest MN hobby community.
