Game 7 Cards & Collectibles Brings a Pure Sports Experience to Downtown St. Cloud

St. Cloud has a brand‑new option for sports collectors — and it comes from someone who’s lived the hobby for more than forty years. Longtime resident Dan Heiser soft-launched Game 7 Cards & Collectibles on August 14th, bringing a true sports‑only card shop to the heart of downtown.

Dan’s collecting story began in 1983, when he and his dad started ripping Topps baseball packs during a legendary rookie year featuring Ryne Sandberg, Wade Boggs, and Tony Gwynn. It’s no surprise he was hooked immediately — and he never stepped away. By age 14, he was already setting up at shows. During COVID, he expanded into online selling, and the success of that venture finally pushed him toward a longtime dream: opening a brick‑and‑mortar shop built around the passion he’s carried since childhood.

Game 7 sits next to Radio City Music Hall in the basement of Metz and Company, giving it a classic, tucked‑away hobby feel. The staircase leading down is lined with photos from iconic Game 7 moments — including the 1991 World Series — setting the tone before you even enter the shop. Dan said “We’ve had a few customers comment it reminds them of the old Dug Out. We’re happy and honored to bring back those memories.”

Inside, the shop is exactly what Dan envisioned: a sports‑only card store with a wide mix of modern, vintage, and value‑priced inventory. Collectors will find staples like value boxes, singles, wax and supplies, but also some truly unique pieces you won’t see anywhere else. Highlights include a 1995 Timberwolves training camp ticket stub signed by Kevin Garnett, game‑used jerseys from the World Baseball Classic, and even the original mold for Joe Mauer’s statue at Target Field.

These items give Game 7 the feel of a hybrid between a card shop and a small sports museum — a place where collectors can dig, reminisce, and discover pieces of Minnesota sports history. You can find directions and details in our Card Shop Directory, and we wish Dan all the best as Game 7 becomes one of Minnesota’s newest shops.
