The Gathering Emporium, located at 8503 Wyoming Ave N, celebrates its grand opening this Saturday, July 11th. The celebration runs from noon to 5 PM and will feature free pizza, snacks, beverages, raffles, giveaways, games, and special events — a full afternoon built to welcome players into their new community space. Their soft launch a few weeks ago made one thing unmistakably clear: the community was more than ready for a space built on one core idea — great games, zero gatekeeping.
Owned by Jackie Fischer and managed by Jacob Mayo, The Gathering Emporium has quickly become a welcoming hub for players across the metro. Their very first event drew 26 attendees, followed soon after by a 38‑player Precon League — an impressive start for a brand‑new shop. Magic may be the flagship, but community is the priority. With events running seven days a week, players have consistent opportunities to meet, play, learn, and grow together. And for the collectors — yes, the cards are here in force. The Emporium is stocked with singles, sealed product, and a steady stream of fresh inventory hitting the shelves.
Jacob emphasized one point that deserves spotlight: The Gathering Emporium didn’t open alone — it opened with support. When the location became available, they reached out to Khang TCG first for their blessing. Not only did Khang give it, but their entire crew welcomed the new shop with open arms.
