I stopped by the Truplayerz Card Show in Rosemount on January 10th, and the experience made an impression before I even walked through the doors. The street leading up to the venue was lined with cars on one side — so many that I ended up parking nearly a quarter mile away. Honestly, I didn’t mind the walk. If anything, it was the first sign that the show was buzzing.
That feeling was confirmed the moment I stepped inside. You could hear the energy immediately — conversations, deals, ripping wax, the whole hobby soundtrack. A concession stand greets you right at the entrance, and just around the corner there’s a large seating area where people were eating, opening packs, and talking trades. It had that classic “community hub” feel that only a good local show can create.
The show floor itself was packed. By my count, there were 53 tables: 49 sports, 3 TCG and 1 mixed. A handful of sports tables had vintage, but the majority leaned modern. There were plenty of autographed items, too — including some standout Justin Jefferson in‑person autos slabbed with yellow ink that really popped.
One thing that immediately stood out: zero empty tables. Every spot was filled, and every dealer I talked to had nothing but good things to say about the show. A big part of that positive vibe comes from the way the show is run. Each dealer table had a printed letter from the promoter thanking them for being there, inviting them to reach out if they needed anything during the day, and asking for suggestions to make the show even better. The letter also doubled as a coupon for a free lunch — a small gesture, but one that clearly goes a long way. It’s no surprise the tables were full. When a show treats its dealers well, the hobby community notices.
I didn’t have as much time as usual to dig through boxes or pick up anything — I was squeezing the visit in between games at a nearby basketball tournament — but even a short stop was enough to validate why this show has such a strong reputation. It’s organized, energetic, and genuinely collector‑friendly. I’ll definitely be back. And for those in the TCG world, Truplayerz is expanding — their first dedicated TCG show is coming up on May 2nd. You can find the flyer for it and all the other upcoming shows on our card show calendar. If their flagship show is any indication, it’s going to be worth checking out.
